Years after leaving his Long Island hometown to chase his dream as a filmmaker,
Tom Bell (Finn Wittrock) is down on his luck as a director. Once
celebrated for a breakout film inspired by a devastating high school tragedy, Tom
has failed to recapture that early success. When a trip home to retrieve the
belongings from his recently sold childhood house forces him back into the
community he abandoned, he finds himself confronting the people and memories he
left behind - including the family of his late girlfriend, whose death forever
altered the course of their lives. With Westhampton writer-director Christian
Nilsson crafts a haunting, dreamlike meditation on memory, regret, and the
stories we tell ourselves to survive. (USA,
2025, 94 mins, NR, English | Dir. Christian Nilsson)
Christian Nilsson is an Emmy
Award-winning video journalist, filmmaker, and commercial director whose work
spans narrative film, documentary, and branded storytelling. He’s the
writer/director behind Dashcam and Unsubscribe—the $0-budget
short that unexpectedly topped the U.S. box office in 2020. His second feature,
Westhampton, premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Festival and stars Finn
Wittrock, RJ Mitte, Jake Weary, and Amy Forsyth. His latest screenplay, Paparazzo,
appeared on the 2024 Black List and is currently in development with Passage
Pictures and Ozone Avenue. Christian has produced editorial and branded video
content for The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, Esquire, HuffPost,
MTV, and other outlets—blending cinematic craft with sharp journalistic
instinct. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America and lives in New
York City.
